Getting answers

Visit the site for news and information on NUT campaigns and answers to questions about your terms and conditions, including maternity leave, performance management, bullying and academies. You can also read The Teacher online at www.teachers.org.uk/teacher

Retraction and apology

In the November/December 2010 edition of The Teacher, we stated that Ruth Allen, a former Head of Science at the Darton High School, was reported by the Examinations Officer to have “stolen” a colleague’s GCSE results by claiming that she taught one of his classes. Additionally, we stated that the same colleague was subjected to workplace bullying by Ruth Allen. We now know that these allegations are untrue and wish to apologise unreservedly to Ms Allen for the embarrassment and distress caused to her as a result of our publication.
