With a programme curated by the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), the Wine+ Theatre sponsored by Matthew Clark will present sessions that will improve your tasting skills, learn about wine and food matching and improve your profits in the process. Here’s a snapshot of what to expect over the five days:
On Sunday there’s an introduction to the Fairtrade Foundation with a wine tasting from Origin Wines at 13.00. Later Graham Cox from Wine & Spirits Education
Trust explains how to upsell your wine list (16.00).
On Monday we’re joined by Xavier Rousset, owner of London’s Texture and 28°-50°, hosting a tasting session on sparkling wine (15.00).
Towards the end of Monday Michael Walpole from WSET enlightens us on “Sushi and Tequila” in association with Tsukiji restaurant @ The Westbury Hotel (16.00).
Highlights on Tuesday include winemaker Geoff Schrapel (pictured) talking about the Barossa Valley region, his wines, his home and his family at 13.00. Later that afternoon
at 15.00 Robert Joseph discusses the merits and opportunity for light wines.

On Wednesday we’re joined by Noelia Davolio, the daughter of a Fairtrade Small Producer from Medrano, Argentina. Noelia co-hosts a tasting of a range of wines from Chile, Argentina & South Africa. The last session of the day, again hosted by Michael Walpole of the WSET, considers the merits of Traditional vs. Modern Vodka Cocktails, in association with Polo Bar at the Westbury Hotel.
Elsewhere “The other side to Sherry” is explored in two sessions hosted by David Martin (top) from WSET, with Jeremy Rockett (bottom left) (14.00 - Sunday) and Andrew Sinclair (bottom right) (14.00 – Thursday) from Gonzales Byass.
