The Hurt And The Healer MercyMe
The hurt is easy enough to see. It’s all around us. Fortunately, healing is
there for the asking—we only have to look up. That’s the message MercyMe hopes to send with its upcoming album, The Hurt And The Healer. Inspired by professional and personal experiences this past year, they want to share a global message of the deep need for healing and the God who wants to provide it.
On the personal front, lead singer Bart Millard experienced a deep hurt when he lost his cousin, a young firefighter who was like a brother to him. Then a recent USO tour to Afghanistan gave the entire band a firsthand reminder of the need for healing.
