Guernsey provides the perfect setting for a memorable walking holiday, with a wonderful variety of routes to discover.
From the very first moment you arrive in Guernsey you will not fail to notice the stunning natural beauty. Whether flying into the island or arriving by sea, Guernsey is a truly breathtaking sight, but probably the best way to view it is to put on a decent pair of shoes and just start walking.
Guernsey offers an abundance of wonderful walking routes, ranging from the cliff top and coastal paths that wind almost all the way around the island to the hidden country lanes and cobbled town streets that lie within. But what really makes Guernsey a walker’s paradise is that this amazing diversity of trails and pathways is incredibly quick and easy to access from any part of the island.
There are walks on offer to suit every taste, every age and all levels of fitness and ability. There is a range of self-guided walks. Maps and publications are available from the Guernsey Information Centre. Alternatively, accredited tour guides, who take great pride in showing off their island in its best light, can be booked for private tours.
Those who are keen to explore all of Guernsey’s many distinct features are simply spoiled for choice. But whatever else you decide to do, make sure you do not miss out on the superb cliff path network along the island’s rocky southern coastline.
