Online capabilities that allow a broker to effectively market a client’s risk could be valuable. And online transactions are well suited to less sophisticated products and easy-to-understand risks. But carriers and brokers are going to find the best solutions to transact business depending on the industry and class of business, and online solutions may not be suitable for the complex risks and coverages often addressed by the surplus lines market.
