New clinic in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

n February 17, International SOS celebrated the opening of its new clinic in the capital city of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby. The clinic is located in the Airways Hotel, close to Jacksons International Airport. The Port Moresby clinic complements
International SOS’ existing medical resources in Papua New Guinea. Its professional team of expatriate doctors and internationally trained local doctors are supported by a team of skilled and friendly nurses. All doctors follow international medical protocols and have extensive medical experience. The clinic offers primary care, diagnostic
care and dispensary services as well as first- aid training and procurement. It also offers emergency care and stabilisation facilities, together with ground and air ambulance services. If a patient needs to be evacuated, International SOS will arrange transfer to Jacksons International Airport and then on to the most appropriate medical facility, according to the specific medical need. John Petersen is International SOS’ General Manager in Papua New Guinea. “The new clinic has been established to support our existing clients with operations in Papua New Guinea”, he says. “It also opens up new opportunities for International SOS to deliver services that meet the needs of companies in this rapidly developing part of the world.”
