At St Andrews we offer a four-year Honours degree pathway as standard which is different from the English system. We have four faculties Arts, Divinity, Medicine and Science. Students choose the faculty in which they want to study based upon their qualifications and interests. Please note, in the Faculty of Arts the degree is called a Master of Arts (MA) which is equivalent to a Bachelor of Arts (BA).
Crucially students are admitted to a faculty and not to a specific degree programme. This provides breadth and flexibility as students can drop and pick up subjects over their first two years, allowing them to settle on their chosen degree path at the end of year 2. Students in all faculties (except Medicine) will begin by taking three subjects in year 1.
Year 1: Subjects: 1 2 3 4 Year 2: Subjects: 1 2 4
