Expanded capacity for balances

Adam Equipment has improved its PGW family of balances with four additional models of the PGW, offering even more versatility to users. The added

models include the PGW 603e, PGW 6002e, PGW603i and PGW 6002i, expanding the capacity and readabilities of the PGW to 6000g x 0.01g. The ‘e’ models have external

calibration, while ‘I’ models offer motorised internal calibration. The PGW-M series of balances

have been evaluated and certified for EC-type approval, making them ideal for applications that require European approval.

PGW balances feature a large,

brilliantly backlit display with an easy to read and an integrated second smaller digital display for text prompts in multiple languages, plus time and date. The RS-232 bi-directional

Innovative multi-analyte testing

interface is standard, allowing connection to a computer or printer and making it easy to record data. The PGW series offers password

protection, keeping unauthorised users from accessing the balance. To prevent theft, a Kensington-

type lock and cable can be purchased as an accessory. Other features include 16 weighing units including one custom unit, below-balance weighing, stylishly designed metal housing to divert spills and a large, removable stainless steel pan for easy cleaning or storage.

Globally, there is now a growing need for rapid cost effective screening methods for antimicrobial and growth promoter compounds in matrices such as milk, honey, meat, urine and feed. Increased vigilance is required to ensure that the food products consumed are free from drugs which could pose a risk to human health.

for the simultaneous detection of multiple drugs from a single sample (46 antimicrobials per sample can be detected using one testing platform, >2000 tests per kit). Based on tried and tested ELISA

technology, this innovative analyser eliminates the need for labour intensive qualitative dipstick methods which only have the ability to test one sample at a time. The Investigator analyser also provides an excellent screening method to reduce the need for time consuming and expensive confirmatory testing (GCMS, HPLC). Test menu includes

It is necessary that all food testing

laboratories maximise productivity to guarantee rapid detection of these drugs within limited time frames. The Evidence Investigator analyser will ensure that laboratories not only fulfil, but reduce their current workload and sample throughput time considerably. The analyser uses unique patented Biochip Technology and allows

www.randoxfooddiagnostics.com Mix and match blending

Known already for marinade oil blends with highest functionality, Walter Rau AG has added two new dimensions by using virgin vegetable oils - vegolio mix and match - offering functionality, better taste and look. Marinade oils are usually blends

of refined vegetable oil and vegetable fat and structured in a manner, that a stable, pasty yet pump able consistency is achieved. The producer of industrial

marinades batches are using these blends and add various spices or other ingredients depending on the application. The easiest system is just a blend with dry spices, more complex systems have certain amounts of, for example, mustard or other wet components added. Usually the mixing is done

with a slow moving agitator for dry

components or with a high shear system if emulsions are needed. Proper crystal matrixes withstand those forces and avoid the formation of an oil layer on top of the ready marinades. The innovative part is the possibility of transferring this technology to using much tastier and more colourful virgin vegetable oils - of a customer’s choice.
