FACTORY FLOOR ‘TWO DIFFERENT WAYS’ DFA
AS might be expected of a band with the name Factory Floor, the trio of Dominic Butler, Gabriel Gurnsey and Nikki Colk are heavily infl uenced by the UK industrial bands of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, having remixed and collaborated live with Throbbing Gristle’s Chris Carter and worked with Joy Division and New
Order’s Stephen Morris, as well as more modern bearers of this legacy such as Optimo. Their latest single for DFA is an expansive dancefl oor beast formed from bubbling arpeggios, crisp 808 claps and cowbells, while the b-side ‘Second Way’ strips the synth fat away for an even leaner dancefl oor killer.

goes out to over 30 countries, a tireless DJ schedule including this year, Sonar, WMC and Kazantip, and his own successful Breakout Audio label. And as his podcast, which ranges from Eats Everything to Murk shows, if it’s got the groove to make you move, Darius is on it.
