In Appreciation FROM THE DEAN
As I reflect upon our accomplishments over the past year, I am grateful to all of you who have set us on an enviable trajectory for the future. Our momentum is driven by the deep generosity of alumni and friends. While each of your connections to the GSB is unique, your collective contribution of time and financial resources reflects an invigorating vote of confidence in our capacity as a school to shape a community of principled, global leaders.
The results are stellar. For example, the MBA Class of 2011 achieved 99.2% participation and $782,105 in pledged commitments and matching gifts by graduation. The Sloan Class of 2011 raised a record $300,000 with 100% participation. More than 3,110 volunteers worldwide helped the school in countless ways. Overall, you provided half of the school’s operating budget and are vital to the work of faculty, student fellowships, and the unparalleled quality of the programs that we offer.
We have much to celebrate with the new Knight Management Center, and we have more to look forward to with opportunities for enhanced partnerships throughout Stanford and beyond. Your contributions to The Stanford Challenge have increased the vibrancy of life on campus and by doing so, will increase the global impact of our students, faculty, and their ideas in the years to come. Thank you for investing in our spirit of intellectual discovery, collaboration, and innovation!
