location is their mini-store with a selection of food, treats and toys inside Market Basket Shop in Little Italy. Opening to the public Nov. 1, with a sneak preview Oct. 29, Market Basket is located at 519 Date St., between India and Columbia, and features “treasures from local farmers’ markets” available all week long since the shop is open Tuesday through Saturday. Natural Pet is a regular fixture at the Little Italy Mercato farmers’ market and will now be the only full-time pet store in Little Italy, an area known for its large population of pampered pets.

Dog, through Therapy Dogs International. He accompanied Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Yvette Currie, to Yokosuka, Japan to work with military families. During his time there, he charmed clients and staff, and was a resounding successful pilot program, the first, ever, for any Fleet and Family Support Center, in the world. The center director was so impressed with Bear, she wanted to reward him with an honorary volunteer award. Bear also accompanied
Yvette during counseling interventions for the San Diego Cedar fire survivors, the San Diego YWCA, and Chapparal High School. Bear has also been a volunteer with the San Diego USO and San Diego Hospice. During therapy sessions,
Bear provides a grounding presence, and was particularly helpful for service members dealing with adjustment disorders, in Japan, who had to leave pets behind and who missed the familiarity of home, in the United States.
