CALLING ALL FOOD & DRINK

BUSINESSES IN KENT as Produced in Kent launches new 'Kent Food Product' awards

Produced in Kent - the organisation committed to promoting excellence in food and drink production in the 'Garden of England' - has just announced the launch of two exciting new awards for food and drink producers and manufacturers supplying the retail and foodservice industries. The 'Kent Food Product - Retail' and 'Kent Food Product - Foodservice' awards are the new product categories for producers.

The 'Kent Food Product' awards are part of Produced in Kent's highly respected Taste of Kent Awards and companies have until 3 January 2012 to self-nominate and submit their products. Entry forms and full terms and conditions of entry will be available from 23 September 2011 at www.tasteofkentawards.co.uk

As Julie Monkman, manager at Produced in Kent explained: "Tough economic times, call for a new approach, to ensure companies and products stand out from the crowd. By launching these new awards, Produced in Kent will be helping companies stimulate increased levels of interest in their products. Winners will benefit from the tremendous PR coverage generated by the Taste of Kent Awards, whilst the product awards will bring added kudos for winning companies and their products - both with consumers via the retail sector and amongst product buyers and catering managers in the foodservice industry."

Following the closing date on 3 January 2012, Produced in Kent will bring in a team of experts to judge all the products and the judging will take place in a professional catering environment to allow the ideal judging conditions.

Produced in Kent will put its PR engine into full throttle to support the winners and all successful entries will be publicised on the Taste of Kent Awards and Produced in Kent websites and at the Taste of Kent Awards Dinner next March.

Companies can submit up to three products for each category and the cost per product entry is £20+VAT for Produce in Kent and £25+VAT for non members. Each product submitted will be required for the tasting in January 2012 and should be accompanied by appropriate marketing literature in support of the entry.

To take advantage of the membership rates call 01732 853170 for new member enquiries.
