JAMIE JONES’ entry into the Fabric canon was long overdue but on ‘Fabric 59’ he arrives with an ominously funky bang. Eschewing obvious tracks in favour of gems dug out deep from within his record box, including Metronomy’s brilliant remix of Sebastien Tellier’s ‘La Ritournelle’ and lost ‘80s classic ‘The Devil’s Dancers’ by Oppenheimer Analysis, it shows just why he’s been overturning the world of house and disco with his own much imitated, never bettered, sound. WE’VE kindly been passed ‘Nothing Can Be True’, an original track by Israeli producer and DJ Guy Gerber. Despite his underground house credentials (we last caught Guy as special guest at a Visionquest party), the tune was recorded and produced while he was in studio with hip-hop mogul turned hip- house head, Diddy. Their upcoming album together ‘11-11’ is promised shortly, though details of quite exactly what it will sound like are strictly under wraps. Check this and decide for yourselves... ‘Nothing Can Be True’ is taken from Guy’s Supplement Facts label compilation ‘Heartbeats’ which features label regulars like dOP, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson, Guti and No Regular Play and is out now.
