Head (Required for September 2012)


The Governors wish to appoint a successor to the College’s outstanding Head who is retiring. They seek a principled and effective person able to make strategic decisions, translate these into action and set the direction of the College for the future in accordance with its Catholic ethos.


The position is well-remunerated and includes family accommodation within the College grounds.


The successful candidate must:-


• be a practising Catholic, whose life clearly integrates faith with personal conduct and professional activity;


• have experience of successful leadership as part of a senior management team; and


• possess high professional standards and the ability to lead, motivate and manage the College staff.

A graduate who is a Catholic priest, deacon, religious, or practising layperson, ideally with substantial experience in pastoral ministry plus additional experience in healthcare chaplaincy, you will be well- grounded in contemporary spiritual care and keen to contribute to an effective chaplaincy department. You will be capable of taking on a caseload of patients with spiritual, pastoral and religious needs, with primary responsibility for those who are Catholics. You will be committed to the wider role of chaplaincy in a large acute Trust

The Assistant Director (Advisory Team Leader) will lead a team of between six and eight primary and secondary Advisers who will provide support to teachers, head teachers and governors focused on developing the Catholic life of the school and the teaching of religious education. The Assistant Director will also contribute to the strategic direction of the Service through membership of the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be a committed Catholic with recent experience of the leadership and management of Catholic schools.


The Adviser for Catholic Education (Secondary) will directly support a number of Secondary schools within the Diocese and will work together with other colleagues in the Advisory Team to deliver effective in-service training and develop the support delivered to all schools in the Diocese. The successful candidate will be a committed Catholic with experience of the co-ordination and delivery of Catholic religious education.
