Murata achieves two world firsts with launch of
smallest and only surface mount PIR sensor
Murata have announced the launch of the IRS-B series of dual and quad type surface mount pyro- electric infrared sensors. Believed to be not only the smallest PIR sensors in the world, but also the only surface mount devices available, the series are aimed at a broad range of energy saving applications in consumer appliances. The series comprises three models, IRS-
B210ST01, IRS-B340ST02 and IRS-B345ST03. Measuring just 4.7 x 4.7 x 2.4 mm, these extremely
small devices offer high sensitivity and signal to noise ratio, high stability against temperature changes and a low power consumption. These cost effective sensors provide a cost effective method of waking up a consumer appliance, such as a television, photo frame or room lighting, from an energy saving standby mode to normal operation once human movement has been detected. The IRS- B345ST03 device also has the capability of detecting minor motion such as waving hand or head.

The modules use 2 spaces
in the modular frames and can be combined e.g. with 10 pole signal modules or RJ45 modules. Therefore, the user has very high flexibility to create his own hybrid high power connector. The frames also fit into our new
Amphenol has integrated the Radsok® technology in the C146 series with a new module now available. The new 2 pole module can
transmit current up to 150A at 1000V per contacts. With the crimp termination Radsok® contacts, these modules also offer secure termination in vibration environments. The male modules and contacts are designed in a way that the pins can also be touch proof, so that they can be used when power is on the pin side of the connector.
IP67 housings, corrosion resistant housings or EMC housings, which makes this system perfect for applications in harsh environments, e.g. windpower and railways. An additional module with PE
contacts is coming soon.
wall bushIng connector – Power feed through for 8MM actIvePInlock This new patented power feed through solution is designed for easy assembling even in areas difficult to access. It is based on the well known Radsok® technology
with advantages like high current capacity, low mating forces and high number of mating cycles. The pre-assembled connector does not need special tools to install. Designed for cabin applications on commercial vehicles the connector shows its reliability at high vibration in rough environments. With the 8mm Radsok® contact the system could support continuous current up to 160A.
