the globe converged on Montréal, excited and apprehensive at the same time; would it be as good as they had hoped? Would it be worth their journey? Well, it sounds as though it most definitely was worth the journey, and the cost, and the time to visit Canada to enjoy their famous welcome and hospitality. I saw the photos first, hundreds of happy


balanced, enjoyable and interesting. From the very first photos of the reception, everyone looked as if they were delighted with the whole shebang! The gala banquet looked fun, with a very relaxed atmosphere, a lively and fitting finale for a wonderful convention. If, like me, you missed it this time – and

faces; faces deep in concentration during the presentations, faces lit up with friendship as they met old friends and made new ones, faces that were full of energy, inspired by the speakers, the sisterhood and the brilliant event. Then came the reports; filled with


positivity, respect, empathy for their fellow Soroptimists, for the speakers and for the organisers. No negative comments, no sense of


disappointment in any aspect of the event. The social events sound wonderful; varied,

Montréal was that the Board has decided that this magazine, TIS, is to be discontinued after the December issue. It is a great disappointment to me and to many others who championed the new style and digital production of TIS, but the decision was taken. I’d like to make the last issue a real


cracker, so if you have any comments, suggestions or contributions to add to the December issue, published on December 15th, please let me know as soon as possible!
