JOE MCGRATH joined Vitesse Media in November 2009 from the Financial Times Group. His writing credits include the Financial Times, The Independent, The Scotsman and The Times. He has also written for a variety of professional publications including Investors Chronicle, Money Management, Financial Adviser and New Media Age.


ELLIE DUNCAN is a staff journalist for Business XL. She was formerly associate editor at White Digital Media, where she edited Supply Chain Digital magazine and its website. She graduated from the University of Reading in English.


TODD CARDY is a journalist on GrowthBusiness.co.uk, the sister website to Business XL. He was previously a reporter for The Sunday Times in Australia and before that worked for the Australian Associated Press.

HUNTER RUTHVEN graduated from the University of Sussex in geography and politics before joining Vitesse Media. He is a journalist on mandadeals.co.uk and specialises in writing about mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.


BEN LOBEL graduated from the University of Leeds in English and social policy. He specialises in growth capital and technology for small businesses and also writes for SmallBusiness.co.uk, the UK’s leading resource for start-ups and small companies.


ROBERT TYERMAN is the news editor of Growth Company Investor and the former assistant City editor of The Sunday Telegraph. He has been researching growing companies for more than 30 years.

SARA WILLIAMS is executive chairman of AIM-listed Vitesse Media, the publishing company she started in 1997. A former investment analyst with Kleinwort Benson, Sara is the author of The FT Guide to Business Start Up (over one million copies of this acclaimed guide have been sold). She has written for several national newspapers and appears regularly in broadcasts on television and radio.


LESLIE COPELAND is chief executive officer at Vitesse Media. Leslie won the London Stock Exchange’s AIM Journalist of the Year Award (Business Category) in 2004 and 2005 for his work in Business XL and led the Growth Company Investor team to the Best Research Award at the 2006 AIM Awards.


WOL KOLADE is managing partner of ISIS Equity Partners, having joined in 1993. His role encompasses overall responsibility for the strategic development of ISIS, and active involvement in investments. He was chairman of the BVCA in 2007/08, is a governor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is a trustee of the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.


MICHAEL JACKSON is chairman of Elderstreet Investments, the leading technology venture capital firm, which he founded in 1990. He is a former chairman of Sage, the FTSE-100 accounting software group, with which he was closely involved for more than 20 years.
