NACFB CEO still busy lobbying Government

adam tyler, ceo of nacFB, has been keeping up his lob- bying at the House of Lords. as an association repre- senting the commercial fi- nance broker, the nacFB plays an ever increasing role in acting as the mouthpiece for the industry and recent months have seen a steady increase in activity between the nacFB and ministers representing of funding for Smes. adam tyler, ceo of


nacFB outlined his recent meetings: “i have been in- creasingly busy in recent months, voicing the concerns of nacFB members in high- lighting the lack of funding available in all sections of commercial finance. “unfortunately, my most


recent meeting became a vic- tim of the recent hacking scandal – it was scheduled to take place with the Shadow Small Business minister on the 18th July but had to be re-arranged. However, i did recently meet with anne ma- rie morris mP. anne marie heads up the all Party Parlia- mentary group for micro and Small Businesses. “What was particularly ap-

parent from the meeting was the volume of business that our membership writes and the diversity and number of funders on the nacFB panel. “the association recently


sent out the annual business questionnaire forms to our membership to analyse the


volume of business transact- ed by our members in the current year and this has al- ways been a very useful tool to underline how important the commercial broker is in the uK economy – these fig- ures are used by the nacFB in the press and when lobby- ing the government. “essentially, the nacFB


now has a real voice to lobby parliament and i would strongly encourage our membership to give us feed- back on where they are get- ting their funding from. over the coming months, i will at- tend all the party conferenc- es as well as other meeting at Westminster to continue this vital role of the association.’


Adapting and thriving in uncertain times


in the uncertain economic climate it is obvious that the commercial broker needs to keep up to speed with any new products or income streams that become avail- able. this was a large deciding


factor in offering nacFB member Services to our membership – the diversity of partners and patrons on our database helps to ensure that nacFB brokers can stay ahead of the game with the diverse range of funding and services our patrons and partners offer in addition to the range


of commercial lenders on our panel that lend to Smes in the uK, we are increas- ingly seeing more brokers wanting to offer finance and services to businesses that operate abroad as well as the uK. this provides the bro- ker a raft of opportunities to help Smes that operate abroad or have close ties with foreign markets, such as importing and exporting goods. the nacFB has worked with moneycorp for a while now and the range of services that it can offer to our membership is very impressive.


the ability for a commer-


cial broker to offer a diverse range of services to their customers is exactly where the ability to adapt and thrive will come from. moneycorp has allowed the nacFB membership to offer a range of add on services to their clients that operate abroad for example, a business that imports goods can use moneycorp to help with pay- ment to suppliers in differ- ent currencies ensuring that the broker can offer favour- able exchange rates for their clients.


nacFB brokers can now


also offer favourable exchange rates through moneycorp on clients’ monies being transferred abroad, on offices located abroad and on imports and exports – essentially, most businesses that are exposed to currency fluctua- tions. as well as being a great addition to the services that a broker can offer, these services obviously present the broker with a range of new income streams and good commis- sion rates.
