WORKLOAD The term workload can refer to a number of different yet related entities. The amount of work assigned to a particular worker, normally in a specified time period, and the amount of work that a


machine can handle or produce interact and engage in reasonably predictive ways that affects the output of a clinical laboratory service in both qualitative and quantitative dimensions. While a precise definition of a workload


is elusive, a commonly accepted definition is the hypothetical relationship between a group or individual human operator, and task demands. By virtue of their need,
