WE gave Human Life, aka LA-based Matt Wasley, Rachael Starr and Joshua Collins, props in the mag when their debut single dropped last year, its combination of Kitsune styled electro-pop and rave synth break making a winning combination for the ears and the feet. The good news for all is that they’re since been signed up by Defected


(who have a few more surprises on the horizon, trust us). Out 1st August, the big coup is that as well as remixes from The Shapeshifters and Louie Fresco there’s another from none other than the godfather of house, Frankie Knuckles, under the name of Director’s Cut. Look out for this one.

HANDPICKED by Danny Tenaglia to play at his Be Yourself parties on the strength of a mixtape (at a time when mixes were still on tape), Demi’s renown as a DJ was obvious even in the early stages of his career. Having since gone on to record a Radio 1 Essential Mix, plus compilations for the long-running Balance series and Ministry of Sound, his most


recent mix was ‘Sounds like Alola - Volume 2’ for the deep house label run by Omid 16B, his partner in DJ duo SOS. Demi’s podcast threads together his extensive tastes, mixing Kate Bush with Pezzner, for a Balearic ride that will bring the sunshine even if it’s cloudy outside.
