to represent so much of what Crystal CG is about – its passion and energy, and its desire to collaborate and create extraordinary innovations. In many ways, everything the company has strived to build since 1995 is encapsulated in the stories of the Beijing and London Games. The extraordinary visual feast that Crystal CG wowed audiences with in
2008 will also enhance the magic of the Games in London 2012. But as well as ceremonies and sports presentation, Albaredes and his team will be involved in a diversity of material over the next year, before the event gets underway on 27 July 2012.
DIGITAL SPECTACULAR Crystal CG’s role is to provide a great range of material to support marketing, branding and training. London 2012 Chairman, Lord Coe, says:
“Sport presentation is diffi cult to get right, but it’s something we’re spending a lot of time thinking about. Crystal CG will help us deliver this at Games time. Their role is a broad one, as they will deliver our digital imaging requirements across the project — from venue images
delighted and honoured to be providing our digital image and animation expertise to the London Organising Committee (LOCOG). We are determined to help LOCOG prepare for a spectacular Games in 2012 that will be memorable for the Olympic Family and fans, and television audiences worldwide. “The role of our creative designers will
be to provide digital imaging services that support a variety of applications commissioned by LOCOG. Materials we create will be used extensively in the lead-up to the Games – for instance, to support planning applications, and to help organisation and planning in advance of the events. These will include a full range of 3D visualisations of all London 2012 venues and many non-competition facilities, such as the Olympic Village and International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre.” Crystal CG will also be providing a host
of other materials used in marketing by other suppliers and sponsors — and, of course, to support the branding of the Games themselves. There will be extensive audiovisual elements requiring
