2011 Outlook
With a large part its 2010 nucleus back for the 2011 season, Siena water polo could be in position for its best chance at a MAAC champion- ship in quite some time. With the Saints returning their top four scorers, opponents should be on the lookout for an aggressive squad not afraid to play high-scoring games.
Seniors Leading the senior class, and the entire team as a whole, will be utility Camille Norman. A reigning All-MAAC First Team selection, Norman posted 133 points (84 goals, 49 assists) in 2010, along with 36 ejections and 31 steals. She will once again be looked upon to provide much of the offense for this year’s team.
Fellow leader Devan Ragg should also be a major part of the team’s success this season. The senior has played in every game for the Saints the last two years and has established herself as a solid scoring threat who can also move the ball around. She comes into 2011 ranked among the all-time leaders in points and assists and could leapfrog several Siena greats with another strong season.

Jackie Crosby should also get plenty of chances this year, having scored 96 points (52 goals, 44 assists) last season. She also led the team with 71 ejections and was an All-MAAC Second Team selection. The senior class is also anchored by two-sport athletes Molly Chamberlain and Nicole Hagi. Both will miss the start of the season due to their obligations with the swimming and diving team, but should provide great depth and experience this season.
Juniors Siena’s junior class is short on quantity, but not on quality. Traci Robertson started 26 games last season and was third on the team with 36 steals in 2010. Meanwhile, Katie Ness will rejoin the team after the completion
of swim season. She’s established herself as a premier swim-off player due to her tremendous speed, an asset that should prove very useful this year.
Sophomores Heading the class of second-year Saints is goalie Stephani Pouder, who will see most of the reps in net in 2011. She was a back-up last year, appearing in five games with just one start, but expectations are that the team will not miss a beat from last season.
The rest of the sophomores should step up after solid freshman campaigns. Rebecca Robinson and Cally Timm could see time in the starting lineup.
Freshmen Siena welcomes three freshmen to Loudonville this year, all of whom add necessary depth. Lea Allen has proven her athleticism with a strong freshman season on the swim team and will use it again this spring. Meanwhile, Katelyn Finneran will back up Pouder in net and Melanie Boehrig may see substantial time off the bench, especially early in the season with the four dual-sport athletes unable to compete.
