The Newkirk Commu- nity Historical Society has received an Oklahoma Humanities Council Grant for their project “From Sod to Stone: Master Builders of Newkirk, Oklahoma.” We are currently seeking infor- mation on family members of Nehemiah Tubs, Carl Tubbs, George Tubbs, Myr- tle Dodd or Lula Chew. We specifically would like pho- tographs of Nehemiah and to know where he was be- tween 1865 in Pennsylvania until he came to Newkirk, OK in 1893. He was a Civil War veteran and a builder.
