In 2000, as a college student heading into the Marines, Rye Barcott spent time in the Kibera slum of Nairobi. His expe- riences there led to the creation of Carolina for Kibera (CFK), a global pioneer of the movement called Participa- tory Development Together. Barcott continued his leader- ship in CFK while serving as a Marine in Iraq, Bosnia, and the Horn of Africa. Come hear his fascinating and inspiring story.

ADM Winnefeld has commanded units in support of US efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, and served in leadership roles in NATO, US Joint Forces Command and the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He will discuss the international and interagency challenges and opportunities for his commands in protecting North America and supporting civil authorities.
