CBRE appoint new head of residential CBRE have appointed Mark Collins as its head of residential, in an attempt to strengthen the company’s residential property capability in prime central London. Collins has been at Harrods Estates since 1997, where he spearheaded the company’s re-launch and created one of the leading luxury real estate brands in London. Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Hamptons International, where he had overall responsibility for 48 UK offices and the company’s international business.
Nunn better than David for BLP International law firm BLP has appointed two highly regarded real estate lawyers for its growing Middle East and North Africa office, based in Abu-Dhabi. David Nunn, one of the best-known lawyers in the UAE real estate market, is joining the firm and will take up the newly created role of head of real estate for MENA. He has previously worked at Simmons an Simmons on the regional real estate team in Abu Dhabi, and prior to that was a partner in its London office. The other new starter is Mohammed Kamal, who is currently head of real
estate for the Middle East at Hogan Lovells.
Marketing expertise for Marcus James Intrinsic Group marketing director Kevin Ronaldson has joined the board of Essex-based firm Marcus James Group as a non-executive director. He said: “I am delighted to have been able to join Marcus James as a Non-Executive. It is a business that I have admired from afar for several years. New signing for Savills Barcelona Savills Barcelona has appointed Josep García to oversee its corporate clients, as it looks to expand its remit to national as well as regional clients. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the accounts of major clients including acting as an intermediary between landlords and tenants, renegotiating contracts and fi nding new properties on a national pan-European level, working within Savills European real estate network. He said: ““Our fi eld provides comprehensive real estate solutions for major clients at a national and international level, looking after their day to day needs across all
areas of real estate.”
estate advisor Savills has appointed a new head for its property management division in Madrid, as well as recruiting four new consultants. Alberto Gómez will head up the department. He has 18 years of real estate experience, and has been working at Savills Madrid since 2007. Prior to that he worked in property management at CB Richard Ellis in Madrid. In his new role, Gómez is heading up a team of nine professionals and managing over 400,000 square metres of real estate.
The team has been strengthened by the addition of four new consultants: Elena del Villar, Elena Pérez, Pedro de los Mozos and Miguel Rey. These appointments are part of a global initiative by Savills to expand its property services. Volker Mergener joins Salans INTERNATIONAL law fi rm Salans has continued to
expand its Global Real Estate Group, by adding German real estate partner Volker Mergener, who was previously head of real estate at law fi rm Beiten Burkhardt. Replacing Gómez as head of the offi ce agency team
in Madrid is Ana Zavala, who has more than 20 years of experience in real estate. Zavala previously worked at Colliers, working with
national and international clients as the director of real estate investments. Prior to that, Zavala was director of sales at Jones
Lang Lasalle in Madrid. She said: “Joining Savills is an exciting challenge
in my professional career and I am looking forward to building on the existing success of the offi ce agency team”. Del Val said: “Ana’s extensive experience
in the sector will make her a real asset to our Madrid offi ce and she will lead our team’s work with the comapny’s extensive list of national and international clients.”
Colliers hires
Dwight Hotchkiss has been appointed as executive managing director of client services for Colliers International. He has 20 years of real estate experience, and will be tasked with expanding specialty areas and practice groups, as well as working to launch new service lines. He will report to Dylan Taylor, the CEO of Colliers International in the US. Taylor said: ““Colliers International has been focused on expeditious growth that we believe will solidify our position as the best-in-class provider of real estate services.
