Diamond Brand is Your Resource Center for the Outdoors

Are you new to the WNC area and not sure about where to hike? Or are you planning a family camping trip and in need of a campsite recommendation? Or maybe you’re a seasoned trail runner looking for a new and challenging trail. When you are planning your next outdoor adventure, think of Diamond Brand Outdoors as your personal resource center. At Diamond Brand, we have an experienced staff that’s ready to offer expert advice on a variety of outdoor sports and the local area. We can ensure that your outdoor experience is fun, safe, and memorable. Visit our Community Outreach Center in our store and talk with a staff member like Gary Eblen, who can provide maps and directions as well as recommendations on hiking and camping, and can also give you tips on the right gear to take with you and clothing to wear. Or, if it’s running you’re interested in, staff member Kate Shirey can tell you some great places to run along with the mileage, directions, and description of what the road or trail is like. If you’re unsure about trying an outdoor activity on your own, Diamond Brand offers a number of groups, clinics, and

events that can help prepare you. For instance, we have a Women’s Hiking Group that meets the 3rd Saturday of every month, as well as a Running Group that meets every Wednesday. We also have training groups for running, and during the summer we have a weekly paddling demo day on Lake Julian. If you’re more interested in places to go for walks, join our Walks with Gary, which feature walks through local parks, towns, and attractions. For more information on Diamond Brand’s groups and events, visit our website at www.diamondbrand.com or contact Sarah at smerrell@diamondbrand.com. If you’d like to meet with a staff member for assistance in planning an outdoor activity or trip, contact Gary at geblen@diamondbrand.com.
