HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CRICUT! Can you believe it’s only been five short years since Cricut first hit stores? In that time, there have been many significant milestones; here are just five of them:

Cricut launched in 2006 with 12 cartridges – as of the time of this printing, Cricut users can choose from over 250 cartridges.


In 2010, over 2,500,000 hours were spent on Cricut.com, particularly the message boards.


77% of Cricut users report that they use their Cricut monthly. The Cricut Facebook page (facebook.com/officialcricut) has over 30,000 fans.


Cricut is currently sold in 20 countries, including Belgium, Singapore, and Costa Rica.


I think it’s safe to say Cricut is taking the world by storm. For more fabulous fives, look on page six for our new Creative Editor Jen Gallacher’s five favorite cartridges.


On a personal note, I feel a connection to Cricut since it’s the exact same age as my son. He turned five during Provo Craft's birthday celebrations at the Craft & Hobby Association trade show in Los Angeles in January, and was pretty excited when I brought him home this cute green bug to play with.
