McCabe Ford Williams was a co-founder in 1991 of The Association of Accountants and Auditors in Europe (AAAE), a European economic interest group of experienced, independent accountants, tax and business advisory fi rms.
In this, and future editions of the newsletter we will be featuring each of the mainland European members of the AAAE, and we start the series with Etienne Debaeke from Belgium. Under Belgian

Etienne Debaeke (DEBAEKE E. & Co) is mainly an auditor (Reviseur d’Entreprises) and the main duties performed by his fi rm are auditing and accounts certifi cation for business and private clients. In addition the fi rm deals with the valuation
specialised in the auditing of large organizations in the non- merchant sector, among them hospitals. He is member of the Belgian network ‘DGST’ which has 20 associates located in Brussels and in the major cities of Belgium, including the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. STAFF and Partners of the fi rm plus friends and family are planning a sponsored walk in aid of the Kent Air Ambulance on Saturday 7th May 2011 as part of our 75th anniversary celebrations. The walk takes a 6 mile circular route starting at Adisham Station at 12:30 p.m. and is expected to take about three hours.

recognised by the offi cial Belgian commission as ‘médiateur’ in civil and commercial affairs. Mediation is a voluntary process to try to solve confl icts of which resulting agreements, if any, have the same effects as decisions from Courts of Justice. Etienne was a co-founder of AAAE in 1991. At that time, Etienne’s offi ce was much more involved in international affairs with clients operating all over Europe. He could fi nd the support from AAAE members for local assistance when clients needed expertise abroad in accounting, tax or other services areas. In turn, Etienne was able to give assistance to MFW clients relating to doing business in Belgium. At the present stage this Brussels offi ce is still in a position to help all members of the AAAE network in all accountancy, auditing and tax fi elds thanks to, and through, its partnership within DGST.
