Xenon is a mobile sequencer which does a whole lot more than its price may suggest. Hosting a hybrid synth, 2 monophonic analog synths, a polyphonic PCM synth, a PCM rhythm machine, mixer and FX, it’s lots and lots of fun.


There is a piano roll in the sequencer where you can draw and edit notes, adjusting velocity and length. You can also copy, loop, and undo any of your work made by the 15 synth pianos, 10 organs, 10 pads, 15 analogue synths, 15 leads, 10 basses and 78 sampled instruments. keyboards and drum pads for real-time record.


The app also comes with a 67(!) page manual, so true techies can immerse themselves in the capabilities of this little powerhouse and the audio quality is professional standard - 44.1kHz sampling frequency and wi-fi export to 16 bit WAV (full song or region).


The only (slight) downside of Xenon is that the iPhone/iPod version can be fi ddly, but iPad users will be in their musical element.
