APP REVIEW
APP NAME : NANOSTUDIO DEVELOPER : BLIP INTERACTIVE LTD FORMAT : PRICE :
HAILED AS a new-and-improved version of ‘studio’ apps such as Intua Beatmaker or Xewton Music Studio, NanoStudio has not disappointed. OK, so £8.99 is slightly more than the £0.59 you wouldn’t blink over spending on a novelty app, but this isn’t your run-of-the-mill novelty app – it’s a DAW in your pocket.
Reviews on the App Store actually list the price as being cheap for what you get, so let’s run through some of the features on offer. Four synths, trigger

pads, six-track sequencer (with live record), seven input mixer, insert/send effects and live audio sampling/resampling. The only thing that’s missing is audio track recording, and we have been informed by the developer that it will be included in a future version of the app. The controls are intuitive, and the interface
is surprisingly simple — very important when programming beats on your iPhone! If you’re serious about music production, you need NanoStudio in your life.
VERDICT 9/10
