Alpha Waves Swim Team Join the J’s Alpha Waves Summer Swim team where you will compete against local swim clubs in the Gateway Swim Conference. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke. Practice is right after camp at either building. Swim Academy The J’s Swim Academy offers Parent/Child Aquatics starting at 6 months of age, or private swimming lessons at 2 years of age. Our group lessons without the parent begin at 3 years of age. We follow the American Red Cross Learn- to-Swim program. Participants are placed in groups based on age, experience, and skill level. Our children’s lessons are small groups-4 children at most with 1 instructor. Lessons are designed so that each swimmer progresses from level to level as they accomplish skills.
