Women’s Basketball Record: 14-0 (0-0 ACC)


l The third-ranked Blue Devils picked up wins over Temple and No. 11 Kentucky, improving to 14-0 on the season. l Last Thursday, Karima Christmas scored a season-high 20 points to lead the Blue Devils to a 70-63 win over the Temple Owls. l Christmas knocked down two 3’s in the contest and went 10-of-13 from the charity stripe. l Jasmine Thomas chipped in with 13 points as Duke picked up win number 13 on the season, marking the fourth time in the program’s history that the Blue Devils have won their first 13 games to open the season. l Shay Selby and Krystal Thomas each notched 12 points, with all of Selby’s points coming from behind the three-point line. l Behind 24 points from Jasmine Thomas, the Blue Devils knocked off their third ranked opponent of the season Tuesday night, topping No. 10 Kentucky 54-48 from Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Wrestling Record: 0-0 (0-0 ACC)


l The Blue Devils finished 31st overall at the Southern Scuffle, posting a two day total of 13 points. l Sophomore Diego Bencomo finished up competition on the second day falling to eighth-ranked Kevin Steinhaus of Wisconsin 14-6 in the quarterfinals. Bencomo posted three victories on day one of the Scuffle to advance to the quarterfinals. l Bencomo now sports a 15-9 overall record heading into the dual match season. l Redshirt freshman Bret Klopp had a solid showing on the first day at 174 pounds. Klopp registered his team best 12th and 13th falls of the year to start the day with a 2-0 mark. Thomas Ferguson of North Carolina stopped Klopp’s run through the championship bracket with an 11-5 decision and Navy’s Peter Huntley ended the Blue Devils’ wins leader with a 13-5 victory in the consolation bracket. l Senior Mike Bell also garnered a victory on day one in the 141-pound division, defeating Mitchell Port of Edinboro with an 8-2 decision. l Duke opens its dual match schedule on Jan. 11, hosting The Citadel at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 6 p.m.

l Freshman Chelsea Gray chipped in with 11 points off the bench, including the game- deciding points, which came off a Kentucky defender’s fingers with less than 40 seconds remaining l The Blue Devils pulled down a season- high 27 offensive rebounds led by sophomore Allison Vernerey’s 10 total boards. Duke outrebounded the Wildcats 52-36 for the game. l The Blue Devils remain one of four undefeated teams in the nation (West Virginia, UNC, Florida Gulf Coast). l Duke collected 13 steals marking the fifth straight game with 10+ steals and forced the Wildcats into 22 turnovers. l The Blue Devils will host ACC rival Maryland on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
