“COCAINE COOL” LAID BACK
BACK IN 1981 Danish band Laid Back wrote the track ‘White Horse’ during an eight track jam. A camp, proto-house classic, and anti-heroin song (rather than an actual suggestion that if you want to ride, you shouldn’t ride a white horse, but a brown or black one are fine) it produced another
track which, until now, has remained in the vaults. With lyrics about the sniffed-up attitude of A&R men, and a sound that fits straight into the current fascination with the point where disco meets house, it goes to show how some things never change.
SPATIAL DJWEEKLY PODCAST #16
In typically off-centre style, Spatial launched his Infrasonics imprint in 2008 with a 10” of post-dubstep futurism, winning Boomkat single of the week and selling out in a fortnight. Two subsequent 10”s grew into 12”s and he hasn’t looked back since. Spinning all corners of the
globe, and hardcore continuum, his sets range from dubbed out, technoid beats to carnival riddims and air horn hype. Enjoy our 90 minute taster, then sample him up- close at the Infrasonics Rave, London, on November 27th.
