Pastoral Co-ordinator, Office of Evangelisation - 2 year Fixed Term Contract


Holy Cross Diocesan Centre supports the Archbishop of Dublin, the 199 parishes of the Diocese, the Diocesan social care agencies Crosscare, Catholic Youth Care and Dublin Accord as well as directly and indirectly assisting over 600 primary and post primary schools.


We are seeking to recruit a Pastoral Co-ordinator for the strategically important Office of Evangelisation. The position will be on a 2 year fixed term contract to replace a staff member on career break.


We are seeking a highly motivated person with a qualification in theology and relevant pastoral experience to join a highly dedicated team delivering on the Archbishop’s goals for mission and evangelisation. The successful applicant will be a baptised Roman Catholic committed to the ethos of the Archdiocese.


Office of Evangelisation Evangelisation is an essential mission of the Church and in this mission the Office of Evangelisation supports the parishes, groups and organisations in the Archdiocese. The Office advances an understanding of evangelisation, promoting faith formation as well as providing resources to implement the Diocesan vision.


Pastoral Co-ordinator There are 3 pastoral co-ordinator positions including the current vacancy. These are key roles reporting to the Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation.


The successful applicant for this vacancy will: -


> Work with the leadership team in the deanery areas and parishes. > Support parishes in implementing and maintaining the parish pastoral worker programme.


> Animate parishes and parish pastoral councils in developing their plans to work together for mission.


This is a demanding role in a dynamic environment which is suitable for a person who has an


understanding of the current mission of evangelisation, particularly the role of the laity and who has advanced skills in group facilitation.


Requirements/competencies > Primary degree in theology > Relevant pastoral experience > Advanced facilitation skills > Team player > Strong organisational skills > Ability to use IT to enhance all aspects of their role > A current driving license and the use of a car is essential


> Salary will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and benefits will also include pension, health insurance and income continuance.
