Advisor Receives National Award
NACADA Recognition for the Fifteenth Time!
Deborah Hodge, senior academic advisor in the School of Nursing, has received a Certificate of Merit in the Primary Advising category from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).


This marks the fifteenth time in the College’s 40 years that an Excelsior College advisor has been recognized by NACADA. Hodge will receive her Certificate of Merit at the annual awards ceremony and recep- tion to be held in Florida this fall.


Her nomination portfolio clearly established how highly respected she is by her colleagues and how deeply committed she is to her students. Hodge herself is the first to say how much she loves her profession: “I enjoy the entire advising process — knowing that I’m helping students realize their educational goals as well as their life goals. I have the pleasure of working with a diverse population, and despite the distance between myself and my advisees, I feel a strong connection with them.”
