l The men’s golf team posted a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 match play win over Texas Christian on Tuesday at Colonial Country Club. l Freshman Austin Cody collected a 6 & 4 win over TCU’s Johnny Antle. He won the opening hole and made the turn at Colonial CC with a 2-up edge. Cody posted wins on four of the first six holes on the back nine to secure the victory. l Senior Wes Roach racked up a 4 & 3 win over Ian Phillips. Roach made par on No. 15 to secure the victory. l Sophomore Julian Suri got off to a strong start in a 1-up victory over Matt Johnson. He never trailed in the match and held a 4-up edge through 11 holes of play.
Women’s Basketball Record: 0-0 (0-0 ACC)
l The Blue Devils will play Wingate in their exhibition opener on Wednesday, Nov. 3 from Cameron Indoor Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

l The Blue Devils will compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships from Nov. 4-7 in Flushing, N.Y., and the Kitty Harrison Invitational from Nov. 5-7.

Field Hockey Record: 8-10 (0-5 ACC)
l The Blue Devils gave No. 3 Virginia everything it could handle Saturday afternoon, but the Cavaliers registered a goal late in the second half to secure the 2-1 victory over the Blue Devils Saturday afternoon at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. l Junior Tara Jennings evened the score at one-all on a penalty corner in the second period. Sophomore Abby Hassinger along with junior
Stefanie Fee assisted on the score. l After being outshot in the first half, Duke recorded more shots (10-8) and more penalty corners (8-7) in the deciding second period. l Senior Samantha Nelson made five saves in the cage for the Blue Devils. l The Blue Devils will next travel to Winston- Salem, N.C., for the ACC Tournament, scheduled for Nov. 4-7. Duke will look to avenge Saturday’s loss as the Blue Devils face Virginia in the opening round on Thursday, Nov. 4.
Men’s Soccer Record: 8-4-4 (2-3-2 ACC)
l The Blue Devils rolled in their only match of the week, taking down ACC opponent Virginia Tech, 6-1, from Blacksburg, Va. l Sophomore striker Ryan Finley tallied a hat trick and an assist for the Blue Devils. The three goals pushes Finley’s season total to 17 to tie the Duke single-season mark set by Ali Curtis in 1999. His 37 points this year are tied for ninth on Duke’s points list and are the most by a Blue Devil since Curtis’s 39 points in 2000.
l In goal, sophomore James Belshaw made two saves in 74:31 of action. Senior Devon Bostock and senior Nick Tsipis split the final 15 minutes of the match with Bostock picking up on stop. l Senior defender Matthew Thomas notched his third goal of the season and second in two games. l The Blue Devils close out the regular season on Nov. 5, hosting Wake Forest at 7 p.m. from Koskinen Stadium.
Women’s Soccer Record: 10-6-3 (4-5-1 ACC)
l The Blue Devils fell in their only match of the week to ACC rival North Carolina, 5-3, on Thursday night from Koskinen Stadium. l Freshman Mollie Pathman netted two goals in the loss, while junior Chelsea Canepa chipped in with one. Canepa, along with freshman Kaitlyn Kerr and redshirt-freshman Kim DeCesare, registered one assist each. l Pathman and freshman Laura Weinberg were both named to the All-ACC second team, while Kerr along with Pathman and Weinberg

were selected to the All-ACC Freshman squad by a vote of the leagues head coaches. l The Blue Devils are seeded No. 7 in the ACC Tournament and will take on second-seeded Maryland on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
Women’s Golf
l The Blue Devils carded a final round 18-hole score of 316 to finish fourth at the 6,325-yard, par 72 Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. l Sophomore Lindy Duncan led Duke with a tied for third place finish in the individual action as she concluded the weekend with a 54-hole total of 216.
Wrestling Record: 0-0 (0-0 ACC)
l The Blue Devils open the 2010-11 season at the Citadel Open on Saturday, Nov. 6 from Charleston, S.C., at 10:00 a.m., and then travel north to Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday to compete in the Hokie Open at 9:00 a.m.
