l The Blue Devils compete in a two-day event at the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Nov. 6 and 7.

l Redshirt-sophomore Sean Renfree threw for 314 yards and one touchdown while rushing for two additional scores to lead Duke to a 34-31 win over Navy from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. l True freshman Brandon Connette rushed for a six-yard score giving him four on the season. The four rushing touchdowns rank fourth most on Duke’s single season rushing TD list for freshmen. l Sophomore wide receiver Conner Vernon caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Renfree. It was the fourth touchdown grab of the season for Vernon and first since the Army game on Sept. 25. Vernon now has seven career touchdown grabs. l Junior transfer tight end Cooper Helfet tallied a career high of seven catches for 69 yards to lead the Blue Devils in receiving. His previous best was three receptions for 19 yards against Miami. l The Blue Devils did not allow a point in the first half, marking the first time since the second half of the N.C. Central game last season that Duke did not allow a single point in a half. Navy managed just 67 yards of total offense on 22 plays with 41 rushing yards on 19 carries and 26 passing yards on 1-of-3 passing. l Senior defensive end Wesley Oglesby recovered a fumble on Navy’s opening drive for his third career fumble recovery and first of the season. His first two fumble recoveries came against Georgia Tech with one in 2008 and one in 2009.

l The Duke women’s cross country team finished in third place at the ACC Championships on Saturday, while the Duke men grabbed a

fifth-place finish. l Sophomore Juliet Bottorff, sophomore
Madeline Morgan and senior Bo Waggoner all earned All-ACC honors for the Blue Devils. Waggoner is the only runner in Duke cross country history to earn All-ACC honors four straight years. Bottorff crossed the finish line in 13th (20:45.4) and Morgan in 14th (20:49.2). l The women’s squad was only able to place four runners in the top-25 on the day with Carly Seymour taking 17th (20:53.6) and Mary
Carleton Johnston finishing 25th (21:08.8). l The Duke men had five runners cross the line in the top-25 with Cory Nanni finishing 18th (24:17.5), Josh Brewer 21st (24:20.5), Josh Lund 24th (24:28.1) andAndrew Brodeur 25th (24:32.1). l The Blue Devils will compete next in near-by Cary, N.C., for the N.C. State Classic on Nov. 6.
l The Blue Devils added two more wins last week, knocking off Clemson and Georgia Tech from Cameron Indoor Stadium. l On Friday, Amanda Robertson posted a double-double with a career-high 22 kills, 16 digs and a .447 hitting percentage to lead Duke past Clemson 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17). l Senior outside hitter Claire Smalzer and junior setter Kellie Catanach both picked up double-doubles with Smalzer posting 19 digs and 15 kills and Catanach recording 17 digs and 15 kills. l On Saturday, Robertson posted a double- double with a match-high 15 kills and 10 assists to lead the Blue Devils to a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 26-24, 25-23) of Georgia Tech. The junior was named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week for the third time in 2010 averaging 5.29 kills and 3.71 digs while hitting .446 over the weekend. l Posting double-digit kills for Duke in the win were senior Becci Burling, sophomore Christiana Gray and junior Sophia Dunworth with 10 apiece. l Duke returns to action on Nov. 5, traveling to NC State for a 7 p.m., match. The Blue Devils then match up against ACC rival and co-leader of the conference North Carolina on Nov. 6 at 6:00 p.m.
Swimming & Diving Men’s Record: 2-1 (1-1 ACC) Women’s Record: 1-2 (0-2 ACC)
l Both the men’s and women’s squads lost to N.C. State Saturday at the Hand of the Pack meet. The men fell 181-119 to the Wolfpack, while the women were edged by N.C. State 150-147. The women’s team did manage to claim their first win of the season by beating Campbell 238-49. l Sophomore diver Nick McCrory claimed first in both the one and three-meter boards. l In the 200 backstroke, sophomore Cara Vogel and junior Meghan Dwyer finished one- two. l The Blue Devil divers head up the road to Chapel Hill to compete in the Nike Cup on

Thursday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 19. The Blue Devils will then host the closing day of competition, Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion.

l The Blue Devils play Cal Poly Pomona in their final exhibition game, Thursday, Nov. 4 from Cameron Indoor Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
