Brian Carey Regional Director, Middle East


Background and History


Brian began his career as an accountant at Coopers & Lybrand and moved into the private client sector with Abacus Financial Services, followed by a period with Moore Stephens Private Clients. Brian subsequently joined a large private Family Office, managing the family’s structures along with overseeing their global holding and operational entities.


He joined HSBC’s Trust Company in 1997 and was based originally in Jersey before transferring to the Middle East (Dubai) in 2002, where he was a Director of Business Development and Wealth Planning for HSBC’s Middle East, Levant and South Asia regions.


Brian joined Opus Private as Regional Director, Middle East in 2009 and is based in Dubai.


Professional Qualifications


Brian is a professional Trustee with over 20 years experience in the offshore banking and trust industry. Educated in Ireland (Trinity College, Dublin) he is a prominent member of the international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has been a founding member and Secretary of STEP Arabia since 2004.
