“I do indeed believe the buzz is a bit different, however, I think the effects are wildly exaggerated. Many different alcohols have different effects on people,” said Brian Robinson, member of the Wormwood Society’s advisory board and editor of their Absinthe Review. “Many people complain that red wine gives them headaches, and that tequila gives them an ‘angry’ buzz, and that vodka gives them a ‘sleepy’ buzz….with absinthe, the legend of the buzz is that it makes you see or hear things or drives you crazy. This is purely fictitious and was information propagated by unscrupulous producers during the 1990s to sell inferior products to rave-goers.”
