Resources come together for showtime


Forming part of Resource Ireland, the Irish Recycling & Waste Exhibition is due to take place this month in Dublin, showcasing the latest sustainable solutions


October 2010 at Simmonscourt in Dublin. Since its launch in 2000, the focus of the show has advanced from standard recycling and waste management to alternative waste treatment, including composting and energy recovery.

This year the event will feature an outdoor demonstration area conve- niently located right outside the exhibi- tion hall showcasing large waste and recycling equipment and machinery. Live demonstrations will make interesting viewing, and give visitors the opportunity to see equipment up close and in action.


Professional seminars


The exhibition will also feature a range of free CPD-accredited seminars and is a perfect industry platform to network, source, compare and meet suppliers and keep up to date with industry develop- ments. CIWM Ireland and foodwaste.ie will host a variety of topics, covering updates in food waste legislation, alter- native technologies for treatment of MSW, and material as resources. The Environment Innovation Award – celebrating environmental excellence and innovation – will be announced at the show. A judging panel made up of experts will determine the overall win- ner and runner up. Visitors can take part in the visitors’ vote. Getting down to business


This year Resource Ireland will see a new addition – the Irish Sustainable Business Exhibition. Aimed at all businesses wanting to reduce their environ- mental footprint, the show will offer advice, case studies, best practice guides and feature suppliers of sustainable products and services. The launch of the event in Ireland follows the inaugural sister event, Sustainable Business – The Event, attracting more than 4,000 visitors each year since its UK launch in May 2009. The exhibition will offer a platform to discuss climate change policies and legislation, carbon tax models, carbon footprinting and labelling and any other relevant topics with peers, industry experts and the public sector.
