The Guestlist Net- work feels the need to clear things up and finally let you all know that no matter what the statistics are - London is, and always will be, THE best city. Fact!

FILMS

Who doesn’t love a good film eh?? Whatever night or day of the week it is there are cinemas all round London that will have films that suit your taste. Pop into VUE, Odeon, Cineworld and many more and check them out. If you’re lucky enough to be in town when the stars are, go to Leicester square for a film premiere and get those signatures from the celebrities.

Of course there are the usual at- tractions which London has - the Eye, the Tower of London, Big Ben, Oxford Street and so many more. However, it is the hidden gems of London which makes it a favourite not just amongst the Londoners themselves but with people all over the globe!

ATTRACTIONS

London is known for its many attractions at night. But during the day there are many sites that have to be seen. If you want to see all the celebrities all under one room Madame Tussaudes is a place that is a must see. With the wax figures inch per- fect this is a nice way to enjoy a day out. If that does not send a chill down your spine then the London Dungeon offers entry to those who dare!! With only £28.00 per ticket and a bigger discount if you book in a group of 10 or more be sure to visit!! Those that love the high life - hop up on the London eye. This will give you the perfect view over the city, with the view of the Thames, Big Ben and other iconic city buildings.

Wander off Oxford Street and a short walk later you are in the quaint Carnaby Street, dubbed ‘London’s greatest shopping ex- perience’ without the hustle and bustle that Oxford Street holds. Carnaby Street is virtually London condensed into one road - there are high street shops, vintage shops, cafes, restaurants and ho- tels!

If you want a more thrifty London experience the two hot spots are Camden and Brick Lane.

Brick Lane holds some of the best cuisine in London, as well as hun- dreds of traditional English pubs. Venture into the heart of Brick Lane and you will find fashion ga- lore! From indie to punk to hip hop, Brick Lane is the place to be if you want a unique look - and you might even get spotted by TGN! East London has a buzzing night life which you will not want to miss out on, top venues include Aquarium, Cargo and Cafe 1001. Home to the famous Camden market, Camden Town houses the most diverse high street you’ll ever see. From tattoo and piercing parlours (which line the high street) to Goth and Burlesque clothing stores, there is nothing this place doesn’t have! As well as the fash- ion reputation, Camden is also ex- tremely well known for it’s live mu- sic scene. Great venues include the Camden Barfly, Koko and the Jazz Cafe where the diversity of London is reflected, with recent artists in- cluding Eliza Doolittle, Good Char- lotte and Pendulum performing in Camden.

If this isn’t enough to sway you, check out Hammersmith and the famous Westfield shopping centre; wander down the charming side streets of the West End and fall in love with the people, atmosphere and city that is London town!

This could be Hyde Park, Regent’s park, Battersea Park - which ever park you choose be sure to enjoy with no distur- bances and nobody telling you when you time of fun should start or end.

Deborah Omoniyi

We are always being pestered by our local councils to recycle, recy- cle, recycle! But we, at the Guestlist Network think you shouldn’t have to waste time sorting out empty cans, jars or cardboard into colour cat- egorised bins. Instead we think you should be a little bit more experi- mental! A lot of you readers have just started University and at the end of a very hazy Fresher’s week I am sure two thirds of your loan has been consumed by binge-drinking, club entry fees and take-aways, so for once do as the government say! Recycle!

Why don’t you get all Blue Peter on us and make yourself a little desk tidy with some plastic bottles or stick to the classic construction by using toilet roll tubes it’ll help you to

relive your youth and help the envi- ronment at the same time! Do you have lots of empty pasta jars? We thought so! Well jars are useful in so many ways - they can be used as cups, vases, bowls, ashtrays and maybe even as bed pan’s - when the walk to the bathroom is just too much for your weary legs! If times get really hard you could always make yourself a recycled outfit!

No, we aren’t being stupid! It has been done by all the très chic people in the fashion world such as Kirsty Spencer who made a dress solely out of carrier bags! You are in one of the fashion capitals of the world so get on it, do some recycling and save yourself some money!
