A few weeks ago we ran Booka Shade’s competition to win the chance to direct the video for their new single, ‘Teenage Spaceman’, so we thought it only right to bring you the winning video from New Zealander Matthew Harris. It’s the everyday story of a ukulele playing man (who manages to look startlingly like both Howard Moon and Kelly from The Stereophonics when he wears a hat) discovering a piece of alien technology on the street, then using it to build a homemade space suit and win


lots of friends – presumably because they’re all off to Bestival. It’s the best video on the subject since Babylon Zoo’s seminal, and age non-specifi c, ‘Spaceman’, which featured in a Levis ad thanks to an Arthur Baker remix with some ker-azy helium pitched vocals.
