What does RYA recognition mean?


RYA training programmes are designed to help you get the best from your boat and maximum enjoyment from your time afl oat. Our courses break down essential skills


into manageable chunks and deliver them to you in a fl exible, user-friendly format suited to the type of boating you do. Whether you want more experience afl oat, or need to concentrate on your navigation skills, there is a course to help you. We also off er training in specialist areas such as radar, sea survival and diesel engines, to broaden your knowledge and prepare you for all eventualities at sea. This brochure covers our range of


shorebased courses – great for keeping you busy over the winter or for topping up your expertise throughout the year.


Taking an RYA course at one of our recognised training centres means you are part of a programme that is known and respected worldwide. The centres off er training to a standard


syllabus, using qualifi ed instructors who are experts in their fi eld. They will use our training materials to guide you through the subject and will have all the equipment you need such as chart plotters, radio simulators, engines etc relevant to the course you are doing. At the end of the course successful


students will receive an RYA certifi cate. If you want to work at sea, some of our


certifi cates can be used to count towards statutory qualifi cations, enabling you to progress in your chosen career.
