Curriculum Our curriculum encourages the growth of all aspects of learning through developmentally appropriate activities. Each day is a well- balanced mix of child-initiated and teacher- directed play. Pair and group interaction gradually lead the children toward improved social behavior and problem solving skills. A predictable yet flexible schedule allows children to learn and play in a safe and warm atmosphere. A child’s experience at ISC incorporates a wide range of activities, such as:
• Art and music activities • Nature exploration • Movement and dramatic play • Explorative and manipulative play • Language specific activities • Literacy development • Math activities • Outdoor activities, outdoor free play daily
Parent Participation ISC boasts an enthusiastic and dedicated base of parent volunteers who participate in the daily functioning of the school as well as special events. Parents can also volunteer in the classroom. Our parent volunteer base is vital to the operation of the school; they share time, energy and a broad range of talents with our students while supporting both faculty and staff.
