three Flying lotus london gigs in a week
AFTER CATCHING Flying Lotus’ bewildering beat bonanza on the Mary Anne Hobbs stage at Sonar, we’re looking forward to August when he comes over to London for a series of three special shows, the fi rst here since the release of new album ‘Cosmogramma’.
Firstly, on Saturday 14th August he takes over favourite ‘secret East London location’ Herne Street Car Park, heading up a label showcase from Brainfeeder. On Monday 16th August you can catch him at Tate Modern where he’ll be providing a live fi lm score to Harry Smith’s animated ‘60s classic ‘Heaven & Earth Magic’. And on Wednesday 18th of August he rounds off with INFINITY live at the ICA, an ensemble of musicians from ‘Cosmogramma’ including Thundercat, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Ravi Coltrane, Rebekah Raff and more.

WITH BOTH the Magnetic Man debut single ‘I Need Air’ (out 25th July), Skream’s collaboration with fellow dubstep cohorts Benga and Artwork, and a second artist album (out August) on the way, it’s going to be a busy summer for Croydon’s most famous son.
Having become an international sensation following his ubiquitous remix of Le Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’, it’s sure to consolidate dubstep’s presence on the festival circuit.
