energy. The second initiative of the threefold ministry emphasis set forth by the Church of God Executive Commit- tee—Prayer, The Great Commission, and the Quest for Trust—has ignited renewed passion to “show and tell” about the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. The supreme task of the Church is missional—spreading the gospel of new life in Christ and guiding individuals to become mature, victorious disciples. In obedience to the Great Commission we are becoming a purpose-driven church. We believe, we belong, we are blessed, and we beckon to the wayward to find significance in Christ.

HURCHES ACROSS AMERICA have discovered that The Great Commission Power Kit contains explosive outreach
Church Transformation The Great Commission study opened our spiritual eyes and got us out of the box. Our church is in a rural setting, but we were made to see God’s plan for reaching the unchurched where we are. The video lessons made a great impact. Brother Culpepper admonished us to share our testimony and depend on God for results. We did this and God blessed us as the entire church—children, youth, and adults—focused on practicing the Great Commission in daily life. During the study we rebuilt a house and rescued a family that was facing a crisis of losing their children. We acted in love and in the process touched our communi- ty. City officials and judges responded with words of admiration. Our demonstration of the love of Christ led to many conversions, an increase in church attendance, and a new focus on outreach ministry. —Pastor Jerry Metcalf; Dudley, Missouri
Overwhelming Response The Great Commission initiative has sparked revival fires throughout the Mid- lands Region. Churches are sponsoring revival services to refocus on the harvest. The Great Commission emphasis birthed a new commitment and a “go” spirit to reach the unsaved and the unchurched. Reports are coming in every week about the great harvest of souls that are being reaped.
Every church in our region took part in the 30-Day Great Commission Enrich- ment Campaign. The campaign has helped create a vision for being an evan- gelistic church that influences communi- ties with the flowing grace of Jesus Christ. —David H. Gosnell, administrative bishop of Midlands Region
