Black Leaders Chart Course
CLEVELAND, Tenn.— Nearly four dozen black lead- ers from across America met here in February to collaborate with denominational leader- ship in strategizing for effective ministry among black lead- ers and churches. Delegates, which included both males and females, consisted of pastors, state administrative bishops, district overseers, evangelists, and local church ministers. Ses- sions were moderated by Bishop
Jimmy Campbell, national coor- dinator of Black Ministries, and Wallace Sibley, secretary general of the Church of God. The fourfold task of Black Ministries was outlined: (1) focused mentoring and nurtur- ing, (2) advocacy and repre- sentation, (3) connectivity and support, and (4) social and com- munity transformation.
