Anna Megli is living for Christ no matter the cost
By Jolene Evans
I
n one Oklahoma town, there’s a teen who’s taking a firm stand for Christ—setting an example even adults should follow. Sixteen-year-old Anna Megli of
Nash, Oklahoma, is an amazing young lady. Known already for being a state champion swimmer, the thing for which she’s become best known is as a Christ follower, leading more than 50 of her classmates to a relationship with Jesus Christ. A few years ago at a revival at her church Anna began feeling God move in her life. During the invitation, she sensed God saying, “Get out of your seat and get up there.” She began to ques- tion God about this instruction. Why, God? Why in
the world do I need to go up there? I already know I’m saved. I’ve already accepted Christ. There’s no reason
why I should go up there. She got up and walked down
the aisle. The counselor who met with her asked why she came forward. She replayed the discussion she’d had with God and her wise counselor simply said, “Maybe you just came down to be obedient.” That’s
it! thought Anna. He just needed to see if I would be obedient.
“Since then He’s allowed me to talk to people for Him,” she says. Anna’s wisdom reaches beyond her youth. Although she accepted Christ as her Savior when she was six years old, she has only in the past few years come to understand what it means to dedicate her whole life, everything she does, to Him. “Each day, as I look around my school, I see all of these kids. Kids who bug me, kids who don’t dress like me or don’t act like
me,” Anna says. “Even if I don’t like some of the things they do, I have to remember that Christ cre- ated them, loved them and died for them.
