ShD’s comprehensive report on the industry’s biggest and brightest event – the FLTA Awards 2010.

Sweet sixteen

S

aturday 27th February saw the presentation of the Fork Lift Truck Association Awards for Excellence 2010, in a glittering ceremony attended by the industry’s most accomplished movers and shakers.

In front of a capacity crowd, awards were presented across 11 categories, rewarding achievements the length and breadth of the materials handling world, from young apprentices to lifetime achievers.

Now in its 16th year, the Awards have proved enormously influential in encouraging fork lift truck companies throughout the UK to strive for ever higher standards.

The evening was fired up by Lola, whose inimitable brand of no-nonsense glamour made her perfect not only to host the bar and casino, but also to introduce the night’s presenters: Association President John Chappell and Chairman Martyn Fletcher.
