TREKKING IN NEPAL
The Backwoods Adventures Trekking in Nepal trip takes place in
the dramatic landscape of the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. This
incredible life changing trek will cover the best the Everest region has to
offer with some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. We
allow plenty of time to acclimate to the altitude, experience the culture and
traditions of the Sherpa people, visit monasteries and points of interest
along the way while taking in all the most incredible vantage points off
and on the beaten path. Considered by many to be one of the best hikes
on the planet, this fully supported trek takes us from village to village with
the goal of visiting the base camp of Mount Everest.
We’ll spend several days in the ancient city of Kathmandu before
heading to the Himalayas to start our trek in Sagarmatha National Park.
In the course of this journey, we’ll travel through Lukla, Namche Bazaar,
Tengboche, Pheriche and many other Khumbu villages immersing
ourselves in the local culture while gazing at some of the world’s highest
peaks. This trek is designed for those who are into hiking and
enjoying the mountains. This is a hike—not a climbing
expedition. You’ll never forget the feeling of hiking to the
base of Mt. Everest—the highest mountain on earth!

Trekking in Nepal, experiencing the rich culture of the
Sherpa people, and entering the base camp of Mt. Everest
on my own two feet had been a goal of mine for well over a
decade. Choosing Backwoods Adventures for my first time
in Nepal was easy. As an already seasoned traveler, I picked
up right away this crew was wonderfully unique, incredibly
experienced and passionately committed to doing it right no
matter what trip they were leading.
The first five days on the trail I felt as if my feet never
touched the ground. The peacefulness of the trail, the power of
the Himalayan mountains, and the smiling faces of the Sherpa people
